A centerpiece ornamental motif consisting of several consecutively placed concentric circlets or a single circle crosshatched (ilchaste pysmo) and featuring a contour line around it. Other names for this motif among craftsmen are kruzhaltsia (small circles), obruchyky (hoops), kulochky (small rings). According to some researchers, the term kolach is derived from the “circle,” or the symbol of the sun.
