It all started with the publication of the textbook "Hutsul Ornament" based on the work of art historian Mykhailo Kurylych, which presents his research into the genesis of geometric ornament, semantics, and transformations that occurred in the 20th century. The textbook aims to preserve and disseminate knowledge about the diversity of Hutsul ornament, its carriers, and the cultural and social context of its existence.

Based on these studies, a comprehensive program was developed aimed at involving young people in the study and popularization of manifestations of intangible cultural heritage related to Hutsul ornamentation. The ornamentation has its own specificity in various types of folk art and traditional crafts - embroidery, Easter egg making, wood carving, bead weaving (bead weaving) and others.

The program involves the study of related areas related to the properties of wood, the mathematical component of ornament construction, and the chemical properties of dyes for Easter eggs. In addition, the impact of the environment on the tradition of woodcarving is being studied, in particular the consequences of climate change and deforestation. Based on traditional knowledge, a direction is being developed related to the use of folk motifs in modern design (clothing, interiors) and in the decoration of urban and rural spaces, in particular through the creation of murals.

Today, the program is implemented in several key areas:

• research on the culture of Hutsul ornament and the associated cultural space;
• analysis of the relationship between traditional crafts (including woodcarving) and the state of the environment;
• use of living heritage elements as a tool for psycho-emotional support for children and youth, which contributes to the stabilization of the emotional state and mental rehabilitation in conditions of emergency situations and forced displacement;
• popularization of intangible heritage through the creation of interactive games, publication of articles, organization of photo exhibitions and dissemination of information materials about heritage bearers;
• introduction of motifs of traditional ornament into contemporary art, design and urban spaces;
• museum pedagogy aimed at the research and popularization of museum collections.

Improving educational programs and close cooperation with cultural institutions are aimed at creating a single platform for the protection and sustainable development of this element of intangible cultural heritage.

A significant recognition of many years of work was the fact that in 2024 the “Practice for the Protection of “Hutsul Patterns (Ornament) and Related Cultural Space”” was officially included in the National List of Elements of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Ukraine. This opened up new prospects for preserving the unique Hutsul tradition and passing it on to future generations in a living, developed form.
