A centerpiece ornamental motif consisting of a rosette resembling a small windmill or its wheel. The motif is mostly used in inlays but can also be found in wood carving and pysanka (Easter egg) designs.
Very characteristic of this type are motifs representing the rotational movement – vitriachok v kucheriakh (windmill with curls), vitriachok v gachkakh (windmill with hooks), vitriachok v pidkivkakh (windmill with horseshoes).
