Kruchenka (Twisted Element of Inlay)
An ornamental element made up of twisted wire pressed into a narrow groove as a straight line or a circle, hence the name ‘kruchenka’. It is used in inlay works to frame the shape of objects or individual motifs. ‘Kruchenka’ is usually made of copper, brass or aluminium wire, evenly twisted with a drill.
