Soniashnyk (Sunflower)
A rosette-type motif made up of a large circular centre with rounded at the top, teardrop-shaped elements arranged along the perimeter. The motif resembles a sunflower, hence the name. This motif is used in flat carving, and a certain variation can be found in inlays and pysanka (Easter egg) designs.
