An ornamental motif based on a slanting cross. ‘Krosentsia’ is also the name of a motif consisting of two vertical stripes joined horizontally in the middle, like the letter ‘H’. Both motifs resemble a sawbuck support stand for cutting firewood, hence their names. A motif made up of four ‘zerniatka’ (little grains) arranged in the form of a slanting cross and connected in the middle by circles is also called ‘krosentsia’. Some craftsmen also call this motif ‘rachky’ (crayfish). It can be seen in wood inlays and metalworks.
