An ornamental motif consisting of connected rhombuses (horizontal or vertical) with the crosshatched (ilchaste pysmo) central part. Sometimes, instead of a rhombic lattice, the centre of each rhombus is pierced by thin vertical and horizontal lines that cross and divide the rhombus into four triangles with a small metal-inlaid dot in the centre. Motif medivnyky z lystochkamy (honey cookies with leaves) is made up of the same rhombuses arranged in a row with leaves (zerniatka) placed in between vertically, sometimes with circles. These motifs can be found in wood carving, inlay designs, woodburning, metal chasing, and pysanka (Easter egg) designs.
