An ornamental motif often consisting of a ring of four, six or eight petals surrounding the centre part of the blossom (flower). The petals are graniform, sometimes featuring tsiatochky (dots), pidkivky (horseshoes), and other elements. Quite rare are stylised motifs that resemble flowers with leaves and even flowerpots. They are very geometric, made up of simple kruzhaltsia (small circles), zerniatka (kernels), and often arranged in a semicircular shape. Kvitka (chychky) motif is mainly used in wood carving and inlay designs, sometimes, in pysanka (Easter egg) designs, ceramics, etc. There are no established forms and principles on which this motif is based.
