An ornamental motif made up of slightly elongated triangles and circles pointing downward that look like medals (called ‘menteli’ in the local dialect). The crosshatched (‘ilchate pysmo’) motif or the one with engraved lines can be seen in wood carving, woodburning, and metal chasing. A somewhat generalised variation of the motif is used in wood inlays.
