Artdarts, illustrating poems, and Hutsul ornamentation — what MAN surprised visitors to the "Career Festival"

For four days, from May 21 to 24, the largest career event in Ukraine, which brought together more than 250 companies, educational institutions, and public organizations, took place at VDNH — the “Career Festival.” The event included a space for preschool, school, and extracurricular education, where the Small Academy of Sciences demonstrated interesting offers to young visitors and offered vacancies to specialists. On May 24, the Center for Artistic and Aesthetic Education presented its location. Visitors had the opportunity to participate in various activities, master classes, and interactive classes.

“The Center for Artistic and Aesthetic Education works hard to encourage young people to engage in scientific exploration, research, and experimental activities through art and creativity. We show that science is in everything that surrounds us, and its knowledge is extremely interesting and important. And one of the ways is art. To interest young people and involve them in scientific activities, we develop various activities and hold interesting events. The “Career Festival” is an event, including for schoolchildren and future specialists who are in search. We show them the way, give them tools, and open up new opportunities. We also have interesting offers and vacancies for various specialists,” said Maria Lubynska, Deputy Director of the Academy of Sciences for Artistic Work.

Specialists from the Center for Artistic and Aesthetic Education have developed a rich program for visitors. Festival guests had the opportunity to join master classes in design, learning English through creativity and creating geometric shapes, journalism, illustrating poems, making decorative elements from paper, etc.

One of the most popular activities of the location was art darts “Career in Color”. At first glance, it is a well-known darts game, but there is a nuance - colored circles. Each color has its own meaning and reflects one of the important features of future specialists. Blue color means professional skills: professional knowledge and experience, ability to apply modern methods and technologies, self-development and self-improvement.

Green color is art education: specialized education and professional training, understanding of modern art trends, professional training and exchange of experience. Orange reflects leadership and responsibility: the ability to organize and inspire, take responsibility for the result and the team, decision-making and planning. Red color means creativity and sociability, this includes the generation of ideas and non-standard solutions, openness to cooperation and communication, the ability to find a common language and build partnerships.

An already traditional activity, which was appreciated by visitors at previous events, is the interactive lesson “Mathematical Secrets of Hutsul Ornament”. Festival guests reproduced the pattern, having only a fragment of it. This task requires mathematical skills and good intuition. Such an activity teaches you to analyze the geometric patterns of patterns.

For creative and imaginative visitors, there was a master class on illustrating poems “The Art of Seeing the Word”. They could choose their favorite poem by a famous Ukrainian writer and draw an illustration for it — to recreate on paper the images that poetry evokes. Such an activity develops imagination and fantasy, teaches them to think in images and express their ideas through art.

Not only the older, but also the youngest visitors enjoyed the clothing design workshop. Some simply painted the models' outfits, while others developed their own designs.
